Nastaran Foyouzi, M.D. FACOG
is a board-certified specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility
(REI) and Medical Genetics.
Dr. Foyouzi had her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University
and her residency at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed
her fellowship in REI at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 2012.
After graduation from her fellowship, she was appointed to the faculty
of the University of Michigan as a WRHR Scholar (NIH funded scholarship).
In 2015, she decided to pursue medical genetics training to add a new
skill set to her expertise in REI. She completed her fellowship in Medical
Genetics training at UCLA, where she cared for patients with a broad range
of genetic conditions.
Dr. Foyouzi is one of the very few reproductive endocrinologists in the
United States with Medical Genetic background. Dr. Foyouzi has authored
and co-authored publications in leading peer-reviewed academic journals
including Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction and Obstetrics and
Gynecology. She has also presented research at national conferences including
those of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Society
for Reproductive Investigation (SRI) and Endocrine Society. Dr. Foyouzi
is a reviewer for ASRM, and the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology
(ACOG) and has been the recipient of multiple awards.
Dr. Foyouzi’s main interest and specialized expertise are in the
areas of recurrent pregnancy loss, preimplantation genetic diagnosis,
and the prenatal detection of genetic disorders. She is passionate about
helping women understand their essential fertility potential, including
the role that genetics may play in causing infertility and pregnancy loss,
and providing solutions to these problems. She also has a special interest
in helping families with genetic disorders and heritage cancer disease.
Her goal is to help every patient make smart, informed, and individualized
decisions about their options for planning a family.
