Unique Approach

Minimal Stimulation IVF in San Diego

We know that In-Vitro Fertilization can be a time-consuming and costly process, and it can be easy to grow frustrated. If traditional IVF methods have proved ineffective in the past, it is time to explore alternative methods.

At Hanabusa IVF, our unique approach to ovarian stimulation protocol is called Mini IVF. This method focuses on recruiting only the highest quality follicles that carry the best oocytes available in that cycle. Rather than stimulating the growth of dozens of follicles through medication and injections, we use only the bare minimum in terms of outside influences (drugs) to cultivate a purer oocyte. After harvesting these eggs we aim to create and implant one, high-quality embryo that has a high chance of successfully developing into a full pregnancy.

The Benefits of Single Embryo Transfers

Traditional IVF procedures use more than one embryo because the chances of successful impregnation tend to be greater. However, research has shown that a single embryo transferred at the blastocyst stage has the same success rate as 3 embryos implanted after only 2 or 3 days. This longer development time allows us to monitor the embryo and implant it when it grows healthier and more resilient. Single embryo transfers drastically reduce risk of complications resulting from multiple gestations: twin, triplet pregnancies.
