How Hanabusa’s Procedure is Different
A hysteroscopy is a procedure performed under anesthesia that allows our fertility specialists to closely examine the inside of your uterus. Using abdominal ultrasound for guidance and gently dilating the cervix, the doctor inserts a slender camera device called a hysteroscope through the cervix and into the uterine cavity. This tool functions like a telescope, providing a clear view and capturing images that can be reviewed after the procedure.
During the examination, the doctor may remove small polyps if necessary. Also, part of our procedure to perform a dilation and curettage (D&C) during the hysteroscopy examination. It works by carefully scraping away unwanted tissue from the uterine lining, similar to a tongue scraper.
The procedure is typically brief, and most patients experience minimal discomfort afterward. However, this procedure allows for cleaning the uterine lining of any irregularities, and builds up a new lining for a better implementation success.
Hanabusa’s Specialized Approach
Timing is critical for a successful hysteroscopy. We must perform it as soon as your period ends and before your new period starts coming in. This critical timing gives us the best look at the uterine lining, exposing potential abnormalities and physical barriers to pregnancy. Here at Hanabusa, we have developed a special protocol so we can time the procedure right when the period is done to give us the best possible results from your Fertility Hysteroscopy.
Because of our specialized timing protocol, we find a lot more abnormalities than what’s seen on a hysteroscopy done aimlessly in the cycle. We can quickly identify and remove these abnormalities during the procedure. Often it is these abnormalities that are ultimately causing a patient’s infertility.
